MONITORING, EVALUATION & LEARNING

SWISSAID Evaluation Framework

Designed a multi-year, mixed-methods impact evaluation framework for SWISSAID’s AgrEcoNUS+ initiative in Zimbabwe, including field-ready data collection tools, validated food-security and agroecology measures, and an analysis plan for comparing agroecological and conventional smallholder farming models.

Smallholder Food Security & Climate Risk in Kasungu District, Malawi

Conducted field research with smallholder farmers to examine how sustainable intensification practices affect food security and how climate shocks shape farmers’ ability to adopt and sustain agricultural technologies. The study combined interviews, focus groups, site visits, and thematic analysis.

PROGRAM DESIGN · FOOD SECURITY

Addressing Food Security in Kuntaur LGA, The Gambia

Designed a three-year food-security and climate-resilience program for 1,200 smallholder farmers in Kuntaur LGA, centered on farmer cooperatives, climate-resilient inputs, storage infrastructure, agricultural training, microfinance, crop insurance, and market-price monitoring. Developed the project’s theory of change, logframe, M&E framework, gender and social inclusion analysis, and budget.

FOOD POLICY · AGRARIAN POLITICAL ECONOMY

GM Crops & Global Hunger

Critically evaluated genetically modified crops as a food-security strategy, weighing potential productivity and climate-resilience benefits against concerns around unequal food access, corporate control of seed systems, ecological sustainability, and farmer autonomy. The analysis argues that biotechnology may play a targeted role, but cannot address structural drivers of hunger on its own.
